{"id":297,"date":"2015-06-13T16:32:07","date_gmt":"2015-06-14T00:32:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yootopia.com\/mystory\/wp\/?p=297"},"modified":"2015-06-14T01:27:25","modified_gmt":"2015-06-14T09:27:25","slug":"howto-perl-on-windows-activeperl","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.yootopia.com\/mystory\/wp\/?p=297","title":{"rendered":"[HowTo] perl on Windows &#8211; ActivePerl"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I am a huge fan of perl scripting language and I have scripts that I want to run on Windows and I use ActiveState&#8217;s ActivePerl<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.activestate.com\/activeperl\" target=\"_blank\">ActiveState ActivePerl<\/a><\/p>\n<p>During installation, do not change any of the settings, just take all of the default settings and install.<\/p>\n<p>ActivePerl comes with a great tool to manage modules &#8211; Perl Package Manager(PPM)<\/p>\n<p>Here is PPM repository for PerlMagick: <a href=\"http:\/\/www.bribes.org\/perl\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.bribes.org\/perl\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Here are some of the perl modules that I install for my own use:<br \/>\n Image\/Magick.pm<br \/>\n Image\/ExifTool.pm<\/p>\n<p>Also jhead.exe is needed for JPEG header manipulation &#8211; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sentex.net\/~mwandel\/jhead\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.sentex.net\/~mwandel\/jhead\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>ImageMagick(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.imagemagick.org\/script\/index.php\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/www.imagemagick.org\/<\/a>) also needs to be installed.
